Computers, don't they drive you insane?????...........Here.... have a look at these great links to help you out........

****************Partition Management****************

Sometimes we want to upgrade our computers to a larger hard drive. These are some programs which enable you to format, create, resize, and copy partitions.

http://www.cutepm.com Cute partition manager. Freeware. Excellent for resizing and copying partitions.

Maxtor™ Maxtor has a great utility called Maxblast. It'll help you copy, partition and put EZ_BIOS (a blessing trust me-it manages your hard drive and BIOS parameters, etc. etc.).

Western Digital™ has their version of EZ_BIOS and its own utilities - Western Digital's™ downloads.

******************Bootdisks and Live CDs******************

Boot disks for Windows 2000, XP Home & Pro Ed., NT, 98,95

Bootdisks - boot disks for all operating systems!!!! Network boot disks too....an essential part for an administrator.

SuperGrub -Installs, repairs and/or deletes a Grub loader. Grub is a boot loader made for Linux to boot OS systems. Sometimes from Ubuntu to DOS you might have a leftover Grub loader displaying a prompt "Grub rescue>"  It can be fixed using SuperGrub to restore an DOS/Windows MBR boot sequence.

Write image files to floppies with RAWwRite..

Bootdisks and Live CDs enable you to boot up from a CD,DVD or even a flash drive with either a windows pre-install environment or a Linux op sys. This enables you to at least access your hard drive, scan for viruses, reset admin passwds and/or defrag.

Bart's PE builder BartPE allows you to boot Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 In a pre-install environment allowing you to fix most issues.

Also...Winbuilder Similar to Bart's PE but more user friendly, in my honest opinion.

Computer help forums- Most anti-virus and Malware removal tools can be found on any of the sites below.

My three most recommended downloads are:

Avast Antivirus -Highly recomended. I'm currently using it and loving it. It features a game-option. This literally minimizes pop ups and messages of the antivirus. Perfect for transparent, nay invisible antivirus protection.

Spybot Search & Destroy and CCleaner

These three programs allow you to maintain a well tuned  Microsoft operated computer system.

Avira Antivirus -free antivirus program.

******************Linux******************

I began using Linux around 2000 with a distribution from Mandrake Publishing- Now known as Mandriva. My latest installation of Linux Distros(Distributions) which I recommend are:

PCLinuxOS 2011 -This free operating system is one of the easiest to install and software complete you can find on the net. Extra help can also be found at this community wiki Mypclinuxos.

OpenSUSE 11.2 Linux -Another easy to install and free Linux distribution with loads of free software to install.

Ubuntu - friendliest Linux distribution. By far my favorite to introduce to beginners.

Problems with a dual boot or multi-boot after unistalling Linux? See the Bootdisks section and look up SuperGrub. Sometimes after installing a distribution of Linux on a windows computer you might an error with the Grub loader and you are unable to boot into Windows or Linux. Use this with disk floppy, CD-ROM or USB drive to successfully fix the current MBR to point to the correct operating system.
